Even if you aren't attending the actual Super Bowl, you can enjoy lots of activities other than the big game itself.
Dozens of events are staged each year during Super Bowl week as well as in the months leading up to it. Some of them are handled by the NFL, like the NFL Experience, Taste of the NFL, and Game Day Hospitality, and some will be locally hosted by the Arizona Super Bowl XLII Host Committee. There are even some events that are sponsored by other promoters and private entities. As I hear about them, I will add them here.

These are parties, activities, and special events leading up to Super Bowl XLII that will be held in Glendale Arizona on February 3, 2008. All of the events included here are open to the public.
944 Super Village
944 Magazine is sponsoring 5 days and 5 mights of parties and festivals. During the day the Scottsdale Waterfront at Stetson Canal will be a family-friendly destination offering food, musical entertainment, sports and celebrity meet-and- greets and autograph sessions during the day, and live music, charity fundraisers, art displays, fashion shows, world-class DJs and fireworks at night. January 30 through February 3, 2008. This is an officially sanctioned event of the Arizona Super Bowl Committee.

Arizona Indian Festival
The 2008 Arizona Indian Festival will celebrate the heritage and diversity of the states 22 federally recognized American Indian tribes. In a single location, visitors will be able to explore reconstructed traditional villages and experience the sights and sounds of Native dance and music. Festival attendees will also have the opportunity to peruse and purchase high quality, authentic American Indian arts and crafts by Arizona artisans as well as enjoy Southwestern culinary specialties. January 18 - 20, 2008. This is an officially sanctioned event of the Arizona Super Bowl Committee.

Big Ticket Gala
Jay Leno will be the headline entertainment at the Host Committees
Big Ticket Gala. The black-tie event will be held at the Phoenician Resort in Phoenix on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. ESPN football anchor Chris Berman will emcee the event. The Big Ticket Gala will showcase the Hall of Fames traveling exhibit of football memorabilia and will include a live and silent auction; among numerous other items, the auction will feature a Harley Davidson motorcycle autographed by Jay Leno, former Raiders linebacker Howie Long, and the other Hall of Famers in attendance.
